Heritage Shorthorn Herd

She is a thick, deep-bodied classic Dual Purpose cow. We have 3 daughters of Bessie in the herd.

Her dam is our Bessie cow and she is sired by Kinnaber Leader 13B. The only female sired by him in the world. A cow's cow with a perfect udder, great depth, and tremendous maternal instinct. She had a beautiful roan heifer calf in 2023 sired by our bull Whisper Stryker (Pleasant Dawn 2nd son) that has an exceptional growth pattern.

She is a Kinnaber Leader 9th daughter out of Maize. She showed excellent growth as she matured and we expect her to make significant contributions to our breeding program based on her growth and pedigree.

This exceptional daughter of Josi and Eionmor Ultra 8C checks all the boxes. She is the only daughter of 8C in America. With her pedigree, genetic makeup, size, and style we expect her to produce calves that will add quality and genetic diversity of Heritage Shorthorns.

Another daughter of our Josi cow that is sired by Kinnaber Leader 9th. Her thickness and depth of body are her outstanding traits. She had her first calf at 13 1/2 months (not a typo). Her daughter, Miracle, has grown into a good looking heifer despite Jolene’s young age when she calved. We expect Jolene to be a mainstay of our Whisper cow herd given her pedigree, quality, structure, and maternal capabilities.

She is a large, full-bodied cow that checks every box for a classic Dual Purpose Shorthorn. Her weight varies from 1700-1800#. The calf by her side was sired by Whisper Royal Chief.

Simply put, Maizie is a great cow. She has the consistency that everyone looks for in a cow. She has been bred to 7 different bulls and has had an excellent calf every time. Our current young herd sire, Whisper Flash is her son. Her daughters in our herd include Mandy (sired by Mandalong Super Flag), Missy, and Ellen (sired by Kinnaber Leader 9th).

Robin is the best daughter of Kenmar President 26A we have ever seen. Her size and phenotype, combined with an unmatched pedigree, cause us to be excited about her future offspring at Whispering Hills Farm. Her dam is Spirit and grandmother is Josi.

Just like her dam, Josi, she embodies everything a Heritage Shorthorn breeder would want in a cow. Despite being just over 2 years of age she is already the dam of 2 calves. Whisper Robin, a PP A2/A2 daughter of Kenmar President 26A that is being added to the Whisper cow herd, and Whisper Bulldozer, an IVF son of Seabreeze HD Fascination. It is important to point out that Spring calved unassisted at 21 months of age and her daughter Robin weighed 78#. Robin is by far the best 26A female we have ever seen. Long term we anticipate that Spring will be one of the top 2-3 cows in the Whisper herd and potentially in all Heritage Shorthorn females. We were amazed by her maternal instincts and milking ability as a first calf heifer. It is hard to overestimate her potential.

Sweetie is the only Meadowbrook Prince 16th offspring in existence. With Maizie as her dam her pedigree is exceptional when it comes to quality. Her daughter this year is “Flour”, sired by Boa Kae Royal Oak, who is being added to the Whisper Cow herd. Sweetie has an excellent udder with great milking ability, and great maternal instincts. She will be a large cow like her dam Maizie with wonderful eye appeal and stature.
